When creativity and talent come together, magic happens.

This was evident in our recent collaboration to celebrate Rogue NYC's third anniversary and the grand opening of their new location. This special event brought together the expertise of photographer Haley Snyder from Earthly Venus, makeup artist Hailey Sipes, and the vintage flair of the store’s owner, Emma Rogue.

This blog post explores our adventure together, the vibrant energy of the new Rogue clothing store, and how we captured Emma's stunning transformation for this milestone celebration.

The Inspiration Behind the Collaboration

The idea for this collaboration sparked when the Emma’s vintage shop Rogue, known for its Y2K-inspired aesthetic, was about to celebrate its third birthday and new store opening. Emma Rogue, the visionary behind Rogue, was planning a party and wanted to look her best. She enlisted the help of Hailey Sipes for hair and makeup, and Haley Snyder from Earthly Venus to capture her look and the essence of the store. It was an opportunity not only to celebrate Rogue NYC but also to showcase the synergy between our businesses and our commitment to empowering women.

Behind the Scenes: Our Creative Process

On June 8th the store buzzed with excitement for the nights completely sold out birthday bash. Hailey and Emma worked their magic in the back, transforming Emma with a look tailored to highlight her unique beauty and vibrant personality. Emma had chosen a striking outfit featuring leather, red latex, and thigh-high boots, perfectly embodying Rogue's edgy and bold style.

Once Emma was ready, we had about 15 minutes to capture her look before she was off to celebrate with her team. We had a brief but stunning photoshoot, capturing not just her badass transformation and also the eclectic and vibrant features of the new store.

From the neon Rogue sign to the plushie pillars, the poster-decked dressing rooms, and the signature Rogue yellow, every element was documented to reflect the store's distinctive character.

Rogue NYC

Emma Rogue's store is a treasure trove of vintage pieces, specializing in 1950s-2000s vintage, archival designer, and custom jewelry & accessories. For our lingerie lovers out there, they also have so many beautiful corsets that are popular not just for boudoir sessions but also as fashionable going-out tops. The store's Y2K inspiration is evident in its decor and merchandise, making it a unique shopping destination in New York City.

As a boudoir photographer, Earthly Venus usually focuses on capturing intimate and empowering moments. This project allowed our team to venture into a more commercial style, celebrating not just Emma's beauty but also the unique elements of Rogue’s brand and personality. Supporting another woman business owner was incredibly fulfilling, especially since Emma’s sense of style and personality is so inspiring. We aimed to create images that showcased both Emma and her vibrant store in the best light.

Hailey Sipes, known for her editorial looks, crafted a makeup style that accentuated Emma's natural beauty and personality. Her approach ensures that the makeup complements rather than overshadows, creating a harmonious balance that highlights the individual's features.

Capturing the Magic

Visual content was a key part of this collaboration. The photos we took during the shoot are a testament to the synergy between our businesses and the vibrant energy of Rogue NYC. These images highlight the stunning transformation of Emma, the unique features of the beautiful new store, and the essence of our collaboration.
